Sckoon wants your period to be a breeze, and to that end they have developed a menstrual cup that will make your life flow better. Sorry for the pun, I just had to do it. Sckoon's cup is just a little different from other ones you might have seen or used before. The cup is rounder and smoother at the top and narrower on the base. The stem is also more flexible and pretty much unnoticeable once inserted properly.
Benefits of reusable menstrual cups:
- Saves resources and money over using disposable tampons and pads
- Can be used throughout your entire period
- Is safe and leak-free for overnight protection
- May help reduce cramping
- Comes in pretty colors
- Made in the USA
Before first use, the cup should be boiled for 10 minutes. In my research efforts, I found these two examples to be very helpful.
There are two sizes of the cup available, I decided to try the Size 1 because I have had some issues with using the Size 2 of other brands. This one was much smaller than my size 2. I wasn't sure it would be able to stay in place or hold in the liquid as needed.
Inserting was no problem since I had previously researched folds and found the tulip to be the most effective for me. I tried taking pictures, but it didn't quite work out. This smaller cup was just a teensy bit harder to fold and hold while inserting. It went in no problem, though, and all but popped open by itself! I even learned from the instructions that the stem should sit just about at your vaginal opening. That was a great piece of information. I never knew before how far up the cup should go. Thanks, Sckoon, for enlightening me.
The smaller cup did in fact stay in place and keep me leak free overnight! I usually wear cups only overnight since my flow is weird and pads can't always keep up with my changing needs. I also wore the cup during the day to see if I would feel the slight discomfort I usually felt with my other cups since I could never seem to get them positioned right. No sir, there was no issue at all in getting the Sckoon cup in the right place. It almost placed itself where it needed to go once I inserted it.
This little silicone marvel made me forget I was having a period. You can enjoy the same freedom and possibilities with your own Sckoon Menstrual cup, choose a fun color, insert, and go!
