Bump and Baby Event: Mambino Organics Skincare Review #pregnancy #beauty

Disclosure of Material Connections: I received one or more of the products or services mentioned below for free. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255: "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising."

I don't pay much attention to online ads but something about this one got my attention: I clicked to learn more about Mambino Organics. I had never heard of this brand before and was really curious about their products. When I saw that they had a #1 selling product with two high profile awards, I became even more curious. I had to try the Oh Baby! Belly Butter. I was given the chance to try out this product as well as a few others. The totally organic baby line held some promise for Tubby's dry and irritated skin. I needed to see for myself. Plus, all items are produced in a Certified Organic Manufacturing Facility. I was already impressed.

The first thing I noticed about the Moisture Me Body Toning Oil was the smell. It was strong and sweet and really pleasant - surprising since I am usually not too much into scent. It reminded me of my favorite citrus, tangerine. The actual ingredient list boasts both Mandarin and sweet orange oils, along with Tamanu (totally new to me) and sea buckthorn. Maybe the combination of all those resembles tangerine. I took a few sprays from the bottle directly on my itchy belly and rubbed the concoction well. It felt great and not greasy at all. Besides my belly, I also used the oil on my hips, back and bottom. Skin stretches everywhere when pregnant, you don't really think about it or realize that fact since most skin care emphasizes the belly only. I now to reach for this bottle a lot!

I next tried the Healthy Pregnancy Belly Butter. It has a similar smell but not as strong, probably due to the mango and cocoa butters. This product took a little work before I could apply it - it resembled butter indeed. It was totally solid in the jar, probably because my bedroom temperature is kept fairly cool. I scraped off a portion and kept it in my palms, warming it up. Once softened, I rubbed it in over the 'pre-oiled' belly. It smoothed over well but was still a little hard to spread over a large area. I will have to figure out how to warm it up a little in the jar first. I really want to be able to use it more.

Tubby was lucky to try out two of the products as well. Tippy Toes Calming Baby Oil is just exactly that: no smell and totally unreactive with sensitive skin. At least for us, this oil combination worked perfectly and produced no itching or complaining or reaction from my son! Believe me, that is a high praise for a skin care product. It is very hard to find something with the right ingredients to calm, soothe and moisturize rashy, dry and eczema prone skin. I loved, loved that this product had no lavender, which seems to be perversely overused in the baby care world. Thank you Mambino!

The second baby product tested on Tubby was Happy Baby Soothing Stick. This is one product that struck me on the website as being full of organic goodness for his skin's special needs.  There are some of my favorite herbs included: calendula, neem, rosemary and chamomile.  All ingredients in the healthy baby line are organic. No worries about toxins here. This stick was easy to apply. It basically melted on touch with the skin and spread effortlessly. I kind of wish the Belly Butter was in a stick...hint, hint :)
